1949 Born in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan
1972 Began making reliefs to gain an appreciation of different soil qualities before starting ceramic work in Tokyo
1975 Moved to Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, to begin working at a ceramic factory while continuing the independent production of his works
1982 Moved to Marubashira, Iga City, Mie. Expanded scope of work by making a firewood-and-kerosene-burning kiln, and experimenting with open-burning (noyaki)
1996 Invited to produce works at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park
Since the 80s, he has been showing his works in many solo and group exhibitions.
